Bidland.com Privacy Statement

Your privacy is very important to us. Bidland.com has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site: www.bidland.com. As described below, some of your personally identifiable information is used by us and by third parties. In addition, under certain circumstances, again described below, some of your personally identifiable information may be disclosed. By accepting the User Agreement, you expressly consent to such use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information.

Information We Collect
Like many sites on the Internet, we automatically track certain information about you as you use our site. This information includes the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on our site or not), what browser you are using, and your IP address. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site.

In our online registration form, we require users to give us contact information (e.g. name and e-mail address). The user's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary. Our site also uses an order form for customers to request information, products, and services from AuctionSites established on the Bidland.com site. Contact information from the order form is used by the AuctionSites to send orders to our AuctionSites' customers. Financial information that is collected (e.g. credit card number and expiration date) is used to bill the user for products and services which the user may order from an AuctionSite. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

If you establish an AuctionSite account with us, in addition to contact information (e.g. your email address), we collect some additional information, including billing address, credit card number and credit card expiration date. Contact information from the AuctionSite registration form is used to contact the AuctionSite when necessary. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the AuctionSite for using our services. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

In addition, we employ the use of "cookies" in certain areas of our site. Cookies allow us to provide content and information which is targeted to your interests, and to make your online experience more hassle-free (for instance, by reducing the number of times you have to re-enter your password). Cookies are stored on your hard drive, not on our site, allowing your browser quick access to them.

If you choose to bid, buy, or sell on our site, we collect information about your bidding, buying and selling behavior.

Our Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you to any third party without your approval. We do aggregate personally identifiable information and disclose such information in aggregate to advertisers and for other marketing and promotional purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to personally identify you. Certain information, such as your password and credit card number, is not disclosed in aggregate at all.

We cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Statement. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose information to third parties under certain circumstances, or third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. Further, we can (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate. Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications will remain private.

How Your Information is Protected
Our auction systems are focused on protecting our database from unauthorized access using firewalls and other industry standard techniques.

Protecting Your Username and Password
Always keep your Bidland.com Username and Password secret. They are your only identification for bidding purposes. If you receive information about a bid you did not place, or questionable communications regarding your account, please e-mail Bidland.com Customer Service at customerservice@bidland.com immediately. One potential way for someone to steal your Username and Password is if you bookmark any area on the Auction Account Manager or a bid submission page. This is a concern if your browser is available to other people at work, home, or especially if you use a browser at a public Internet cafe. You should not bookmark such pages and you should clear the browser cache and quit the browser completely when you are done surfing Bidland.com. We have also worked to protect you against such a mistake. Even if someone obtains both your Username and Password, they cannot get your credit card information because that field is cleared when they login to the Auction Account Manager. Information cannot be changed without submitting a new credit card.

About SSL, Security, and Firewall Problems
Some older browsers (such as IE 3.0.2) have known SSL bugs. These can result in the browser crashing on SSL pages or giving error messages. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of whatever browser you prefer. For AOL users, you may be able to upgrade your security by downloading and replacing the schannel.dll from Microsoft. For users behind corporate firewalls, you need to configure your Web browser security settings. This includes setting https or secure proxy settings. To determine if you have such a security problem, you can edit a secure URL, replacing 'https' (secure) with 'http' (insecure). If the page works with http:// but not https://, then you have a problem with your security settings. You should contact your system administrator for assistance.

Technical Details About Encryption
Bidland.com operates with a Thawte Digital Server Certificate, featuring today's strongest cryptographic techniques to ensure that Digital IDs are not forged or tampered with. These techniques, developed by RSA Data Security, use a matched pair of encryption and decryption keys. This use of matched-key cryptography with a 1024-bit key length provides a level of security unavailable with conventional secret key cryptography.

Correct/Update
This site gives users the option to change or modify information previously provided by visiting www.bidland.com/mb/ma.

Choice/Opt-Out
Users of the Bidland.com system are automatically opted in to sharing their name and e-mail addresses with our affiliates for special promotions and to receiving e-mails from Bidland.com to notify them of site changes. At any time, a user may voluntarily opt out of these promotions and e-mails. If a user would like to request removal of his or her name from Bidland.com e-mail promotion and product update database, they should e-mail optout@bidland.com. To opt out, provide your name, Bidland.com Username, complete street address, city, state, ZIP code, and the e-mail address you used when registering. We will use reasonable efforts to delete this information from our existing files.
